The Vladimir Region is a unique ancient land. In the course of its development it saw the most significant milestone events of Russian history. The formation of Northeast Russia and the princely internecine wars, the Tatar-Mongol invasion and the unification of the Russian principalities around Moscow, the Time of Troubles and Peter the Great’s reforms – one can get the whole thousand-year history from the early beginnings and Ryurik’s Dynasty up to modern-day Russia, the whole chronicle of the Russian Land through its unique historical monuments situated on the Vladimir Land and through the names of the notable statesmen: Yury Dolgoruky, Andrey Bogolyubsky, Alexander Nevsky, Dmitry Pozharsky, Alexander Suvorov, Mikhail Speransky, Mikhail Lazarev, Nikolai Kamanin …
There are over three thousand historical and cultural monuments in the Vladimir Region. Ten masterpieces of the whitestone architecture are included into the UNESCO World Heritage List. Vladimir, Aleksandrov, Gorokhovets, Murom, Kirzhach, Suzdal and Yuryev-Polsky are worthily included into the list of 115 historical cities of Russia. But speaking about this wonderful land you can’t confine yourself only to its history. At present the Vladimir Region is one of the upswing and best economically developed areas of Central Russia.

The leading branches of industry are machinery and metal working, food, electrical energy, glass and whiteware industries. The stable political environment, steady socioeconomic situation, good industrial capacity and high qualification of specialists of the region provide a reliable basis for its development. The Administration and the Legislative Assembly of the Vladimir Region pursue an active policy aimed at attracting investments.
The Concept of the long-term Programme of the regional foreign economic policy development is approved, a number of documents that guarantee favourable terms for investors are accepted. This approach logically results in constant extension of foreign economic relations. The region cooperates with its partners from Germany, Italy, the USA, Great Britain and other CIS- and non-CIS states in an especially productive way. On behalf of all the Vladimir citizens let me kindly invite all Russian and foreign partners for cooperation.
